Got a new ultra fairing coming and I know how to get the fairing off plus I know you have to disconnect the light at the connection behind the fairing. I've never done this before but do you undo the lamp from the fairing and then place it on the new one, screw it down and then connect it back to the wiring harness? Hope that question made sense as I just wasn't sure had to be done to actually remove the headlamp to put it back on the new one. Thanks for any info.

 

you take the fairing off the bike take the headlamp out of old fairing and put it in new fairing. new fairing comes with a new seal for the bottom. you will have cut 2 2inch
pieces off it and stick it on the bottom of your fairing. it comes with directions for that
You will have to take the two outside inserts out of old fairing and put them in new fairing or the screws wont reach dont ask how i know

 

thanks Leon. One further question, after cutting the two new pieces, you said put them at the bottom of the fairing. Do you mean put them around the bottom of the hole where the lamp goes in the new fairing? I don't have the fairing yet so I'm not exactly sure what you mean.

 

I think he means on the bottom edge of the fairing

 

yes the bottom edge of the fairing and dont forget to take the two out side inserts
out of the old fairing there is no mention of this in the instructions. they just screw out
I think with a 1/2 inch wrench maybe a 7/16 I forget
