I am going to soon be shopping for an 09 Road Glide and want to test ride one, plus a standard Electra Glide too before buying.

Question, what are dealer prices like in general? Do they get full list or do they discount. And if they discount, how much is typical, $500? $300? Nada?

Anything else I should conside when shopping?

 

dont expect a discount on any 09's you'll get up to a couple grand off an 08 if your looking for a older bike

 

List if the dealer is legit; higher if not.

 

With all the improvements (especially the new frame and larger rear tire) I will definitely stick with an 09 Model. Thanks for your answers. I will expect to pay list then or shop around. If the bike needs to be ordered in, approximately how long do you think I will wait for delivery?

Saturday Night Special, I ordered mine on August 5th and the ship date is Sept. 26th. But it is a FFSE.

 

Depending on color, but my orange RG was ordered on Aug 25 and will not be ready to ship until Oct 17th. It all depends on what the dealer already has ordered or if you want a spicific color. I hate it, but I am willing to wait to get the color I want.

Same here.... The salesman gave me a price yesterday of $21,109 for a Red Hot Sunglo SG with cruise and security. It seemed high to me and when I got home last night I looked up the list which should be $20,439. Then I went online and found the same bike (plus ABS) at various dealers for less than list. That's just not right!

 

It took me 3 Dealers to finally find one sincerely interested in my business at a fair price. The other two will be ignored by me, even though one of them is my closest HD dealer. Find one that works for you and support them. Keep shopping is all I can say. My closest dealer was the biggest rip. ("World Class" they claim, but world class they are not!)
