Shop around, seems to depend on what the dealer has in stock and what the demand is. when I bought my 09 ultra I checked with four different dealers. They was $1500 difference between highest and lowest. Make sure you get the "out the door" price from each one. More than one dealer would give you a price, then add on all their extra costs. When I got my '08 last Spring they located the color RKC I was looking for with two options I didn't want. Paid MSRP on what I wanted and 20% off dealer COST on the two options I didn't want but took. The dealer then gave me a $500 credit for my choice of Chrome or Service.

Most of the dealers around me (Cleveland) seem to be selling the '09's for MSRP. Even the CVO's are going for MSRP right now, although with the current tightening on credit some loans may be harder to get, so maybe they'll start dealing?

 

If you can wait until the middle of winter,you'll probably get a pretty sharp deal.Its tough selling bikes when no ones riding.

There is NEVER a need to pay more than MSRP. There are too many dealers that aren't ripoff artists and sell for that. The ones selling for higher than MSRP are crooks.

 

If you can wait, wait until 12/31/08 to buy and tell them you want a under msrp deal without any fees. HD dealer sales are tracking down about 10% this year and I think dealers will move some units to try to pad the annual sales numbers.
