Default Seat Question - Will the 08 seats fit the 09's?

Picked up a 09 Street Glide and have a guy locally that has a 1 piece mustang touring seat and says it will fit the 2008's & the 2009's. The dealer is telling me that's not right and the 2009's have different hardware points due to the frame change. All of the manufacturer websites I've found say "2008" or "2008 and later" without anything mentioned about the frame change.

What's the real scoop?

I wouldn't have bet on an 08 seat fitting an 09, but in the P&A book, it says that the Harley seats will. I can't see why a mustang would be any different. See if the guy will let you try it on to see if it fits.

I have a corbin seat for an 08 and called them and they said it will not fit an 09. They also said things are still in development, so it may just be a different bracket etc... so do not sell the seat... The frame is different so I think the mounting is different.

Picked up the seat today for $230 brand new in the wrapper. I came home and it bolted right up. Sooooo the 08 seats will fit the 09's without any problem. Same front hardware and the rear seat bolt lines up perfectly.

Mustang rep at the DelMarVa Bike weekend told me in person on Friday that "no" 08 will not work on an 09.

Guess that shows how much they know.

I don't know, but you can mess around with a lot of seats or just send it to alligatorbob.com and he will custom make it and fit it for you. I don't get a commission, but this guy does great work and he is not cheap. Your call, is it worth it or not.

I took my C&C fast back off of my 08 Street Glide and put it on my friends new 09 Sg and it fit without a hitch. In fact my friend (same guy) ordered a new seat from C&C based on the fact that mine fit his and it will be here on Wednesday. Can't beat those guys for a quality seat, customer service and speedy delivery.

i put the Corbin dual touring from my 01 on my 09. All i had to do was remove the tab from the Corbin and cut an appropriate slot in the pan of the Corbin to mate with the tab on the frame of the 09.
