Question twin cam engines

When did Harley start using twin cam engines in all of their touring models. I rode a new 08 ultra classic and the bars shook like all the none twin cam engines. What gives.

They started them in 1999 in the toruing models. Shaking at idle is standard for type.

Ths 08 is my first TC and I tell you for the first 100 miles or more the shake at idle was as bad or worse than the Pan or Shovel ..

But then it settled down and isnt bad at all ..

I just posted this in another thread so I'm copying and pasting.
My 99 is hysterical. You stop at a red light and can barely see from all the shaking. Look down at the motor and it's rocking back and foruth a good 3-4". Can't see nothing out of the mirrors, and my glasses slide down off my nose... Light turns green and you twist the throttle and it all goes away. Then you remember that's the Road Sofa I know and love so well.

I dont know guys......? I for one dont actually enjoy the shake. Like I get off my Softail, and on my Streetglide, and sometimes it just feels like I went back in time. Why dont the MOCO use the counter balanced engine on the touring models? You figure they are good enough for the Softail's....right? The Touring models are all about long haul comfort...right? so why no counter balanced FL's. I am asking if there is some sort of rear tangible reason....some sort of tech reason, because I sure cant think of one.

When I got my first EVO , I had two accessories I could actually use ..

Mirrors

The shake is part of it , ride any thing before 84 and rubber mounts for a real experience ..
