Default Big Brother & EZ PASS NYC

Well it happened to me we all thought that it would never come to this a lot of folks wont get EZ Pass because they say big brother is watching and can track you. We all heard of the stories of lawyers in divorce cases using them as evidence to say a spouse was somewhere they werent supposed to be or the job firing you because you left early and claomed to be at work, none f that happened to me thank god.
What did happen was I went on a Run Upstate New York a Police an Fireman escorted run in Fishkills NY last weekend. I went on the NYS Thruway the Taconic and low and behold I got two seperate warning letters one for 145PM the other another toll plaza 205PM on the same day !! and I quote
"In applying for an EZ Pass account you agreed to provision of the agreement to approach and pass thru an EZ Pass lane at the posted speed failure to do so could result in revocation of your EZ Pass privlages. The Thurway Authority detected EZ Pass #***** assigned to your account passing tru the EZ Pass lane refrenced below in excess of the posted soeed limit"
On the second notice it says that this is in addition to the notice you preciously received in the mail. The first one says i was going 24MPH the second 30MPH the posted speed is I believe 15MPH!!! So watch your ***!! In NJ I never received anything like this and Im sure I go thru the EZ Pass lanes a little faster than 15MPH In the Garden State!!
So I guess there are radar speed sensors in the EZ Pass Only Lanes. Look out whats next!!

It's just saying slow down...

You're not getting a ticket right? It's just a warning...

As far as big brother, he's been watching for years...

EZ Pass it's either a convience or it's not...

I definitely wouldn't use it if I was committing a crime or didn't want to be tracked, but if I don't mind that I am being tracked, then it's no biggie...

My brother in law got one of those warnings too. No biggie just go through at the posted speed or slightly above and you won't have any problems.

I was worried that they would see what time you got on and off and see if you were speeding but they don't do that and have no intentions of doing it. I've been using EZPASS for 10 years or so and never got a warning.

Death to Big Brother! I truly hate this technology stuff deep down inside - I know it's a blessing and a curse - but my gut tells me it'll be the ruin of us all eventaully (as far as a "free society"). With OnStar and all that kinda stuff eventually they'll always know where we are, at what speed, direction of travel, where we came from, how long we were there, when we left, etc. The ATM machine already tells them how much you spend and when and where...

If Big Brother wants to track you they can just use your cell phone. Most cell phones now have GPS in them.

Always always always remember - "They" are not some mysterious force from beyond. "They" are your neighbors. They happen to work for the government, but they are normal humans. So if they want to be Big Brother then you can treat them like Big Brother. I call it Individual Accountability and it works for ALL government employees (cops most of all). If your neighbor misbehaves by working for an agency that is abusive then let him know you don't like it. Treat him like a registered sex offender: don't let your kids play with his, don't invite him over for a barbecue, don't say Hi in the grocery store. These people go to work behind security fences but they have to come out some time and we do not have to tolerate their presence as if they leave their evil deeds behind magically after work. Obviously you cannot ever break the law by being physical but you sure as hell don't have to be nice and polite to people who are turning YOUR country into a police state.

There are good cops and bad cops and we absolutely NEED the good cops but we absolutely do NOT have to tolerate the bad ones. Shunning is an age-old traditional community punishment and it WORKS.

Individual Accountability. Sure she may SEEM like a nice lady who just happens to work for the Transportation Authority but if her agency is tracking and harassing citizens then she is accountable. She chose to be a part of the Police State. Let her live with her fellow Watchers and not with the regular folks. You may think this is silly but there is no way else to stop it. You cannot hope and pray your way out of this you have to ACT.

What are those tiny little dots some people put at the end of their sentences?

You guys crack me up. What the hell does speeding through a toll booth and "Big Brother" have to do with each other? Like the reply above said, if for some bizarre reason the feds wanted to keep track of you...I dont think your exactly the eye spy type, they could use much more accurate methods. Like your cell phone, credit card usage, or just tail you.

When you got your ez pass you agreed that you would obey the speed limit at the toll plaza....didnt you? I live in NJ, and I use a EZ Pass owned by the Port Authority of NY & NJ.....I had to agree. I use my EZ pass (I have a few) all over the NYC Metro area. Each and every toll plaza has RADAR to to watch for speeders. It is nothing new or something that is only in NY. Nj has it also, but the threshold of abuse is just a bit higher in NJ. Plus NJ does not even have enough funds in its annual budget to go after people who just go through EZ Pass ONLY lanes with no EZ Pass account....so they sure as **** aint going to go after guys who go a few MPH over the posted speed limit at the toll plaza.
I dont give a rats *** if the feds are watching me (I know that they aint) because I dont do anything wrong, and if I was going to pull some sort of shady type of ****, I would not use my EZ Pass, or my own license plates on any of my cars or bikes. Its easy enough to just rip off a plate from someone's car or bike, put it on your car or bike long enough to do the deed, and then **** can the stolen plate....no?
Anyhow....back to the point. Nobody twisted your arm to get EZ Pass.....you made that decision on your own. Yes the *TAG* can be tracked, but you cant. Even if you didnt have a EZ Pass transponder on your ride, the toll booths all have RADAR and automatic cameras that record the lane/day/date/time/speed/type of vehicle every time one goes through a toll here in the NYC Metro area....and yes the cameras resolution is high enough to get a pic of your face. So for me I love the EZ Pass. I dont have to wait on toll lines, I save both time and money, and on roads like the GSP there are "high speed EZ Pass lanes" where you dont even have to slow down....just stay in your lane until your through the marked area, and the toll is recorded.
I am also all for the feds having the power to track these scumbags who are up to the read no good. I am also all for the summery execution in the field of anyone who even looks like he/she/it is up to anything that could even have a remote possibility of hurting this country no matter how small the potential damage.
