Default Suspension travel??

I'm about to have my RG shocks custom built and I'm curious to what you folks think the minimum travel need to maintain a quality ride. Where's the sweet spot? I think the stock travel is just under 3 inches. Thanks

Why would you wish to already reduce the travel of 2 1/2"? Our 13" Penske shock have 3 1/2" and our 12" has 2 1/2" of travel if that would help. A 12" shock already has reduced lean angle as well as reduced ground clearance. This weekend I am getting in a new Street Glide that has 12" shocks and 1" lowered front end. If you are interested in handling at all, would you like me to measure actual ground clearance?

Well in order to lower the bike which greatly increases handling by lowering the center of gravity, the shocks must be shorter. Naturally the shock travel will decrease. I love handling and I love the look but I don't want it to be a brutal ride either. What i'm looking for is the Happy medium. The shocks I have on there now are 13" and the *** is way up in the air. I was thinking of lowering about and inch and half.

Yep, lowered looks better for sure. and certainly the cush is sacrificed. I'm putting on the Arnott Air Suspension SOON!
