I agree, but it's his bike and his money.

When faced with Lightning and Z06 clones in the past... I always took those efforts as a compliment.

Not exactly how I would have done it, but I don't see anything wrong with it. He added items to increase the comfort and touring capacity of his bike, so good for him. He's probably got at least $10k less in it than he would a comparable HD.

He's on two wheels and having fun...that's what counts most.

That is one UGLY looking bike. Not just from a Harley vs. Kawi standpoint. Its just plain ugly for a bike.
Not to mention it look like he could do a wheelie if he put too much weight in the tour pack falling off the back!

Technically you can't turn a Nomad into a Harley...you can't make chicken salad out of chicken ****.

The tour pack doesn't fit with the saddle bags in terms of the lines. If the saddlebags were HD, too, it might look better.

Still, it isn't the real thing. You have a bike that looks like instead of is. Sad.

I am also on a site that has folks who costumize and restore old gold wings (75-84) called nakedgoldwings several folks have done some interesting jobs chopping and changing their bikes. One of the great things about that site is it is full of poeple who actually work on their bikes and are willing to chop and weld. I don't particularly care for what was done to this one, however, I applaud those who are willing to work on their bike

I have a project, sitting while I am waiting for my rich uncle to die and leave me more money, which has modified a hd tank to be an over the engine mod to a chopped 75 wing

this is a friends modified 1980 1100 cc bike
