I want to connect my battery tender to my bike over the winter months. Can someone tell me how to get to the battery terminals on this bike? also, should i disconnect the connections to the battery while charging?
also, i have 1000 miles since my last oil change. Should it be changed again for winter storage?

In order to get to the battery you must remove the seat and you will then see the battery. I do not reccomend disconnecting the electrical system as this can sometimes throw an error code into the computer. Once you have installed the lead for the tender neatly tuck it to the side and run it out under the seat and you will not need to remove the seat again to plug the bike in.
Reference the oil change there is another post that is currently running around just look at it and it should help.

The dealer installed my battery tender pig-tail, it comes out on the right side of the bike just above the oil dip-stick, real handy and easy to get to when I want to plug in the tender. I never disconnect my bike from the battery while on the tender, just plug it in and you are good to go.
Personally I would change oil before putting the bike up, but others may say its not necessary. I didn't see where you were from, isn't a little early to be going into storage (I have sig pics turned off, so please excuse me if you have it noted there). Mine usually goes into storage sometime in November after a good wash, oil change if needed. Since mine generally stays in storage for several months I also pull the plugs, spray a little marine fogging oil in each cylinder, then put the bike in a higher gear and roll the back tire a little to get the pistons to cycle once or twice, then put the plugs back in. Mine stays up on the lift, covered, and with the tender plugged in all winter.
