Well no doubt the mileage would go back up because your efi is pumping the stock amount of fuel. No doubt it is also running way lean in this configuration. The EPA will like you and soon so will your mechanic.

I second the suggestion to find someone else with a similar set-up and do a map comparison. When I went with the fuelmoto rec map for dresseer duals, my performance went up but my mileage took a significant drop. Following some great advice on here though, I hooked the laptop up and backed off the cruising throttle position values by 10% and my mileage came back.

Do you turn it off a lot going down hill and coast?

Dont throw out the idea that the summer blend fuels may play a part with your mileage.Trying another station/brand may give you an idea. The canned maps seem richer than needed alot of the times but work for a wide range of variables and keep most owners content.A custom map would suit your bike better done by someone that is good at it.

One overriding issue you need to look at.....

Whenever you run a SERT, PCIII, Thundermax or FuelPak you have to understand that all these ECU's Cause the bike to run a richer mixture. When you do this you will USE more fuel so your MPG will drop proportionally to how much more richer you make your Stoichiometric fuel ratio!

Sounds to me like the problem is the tech that tunedit. You can get a retune for a lot less than than the original one, and preferably by a different tech.

I think most dyno techs will tune your bike more for performance than mileage if you didn't tell him what you want. More often than not when someone does a Stage-1 they are looking for the performance gain. I had the same problem last fall with my SERT, unfortunately I didn't get to ride much until this spring when I found out the Stage-1 and dyno tune dropped my mileage to 31-33, but the shop was willing to take it back in this spring and find that happy medium between performance and mileage and they didn't charge for the second tune. I'm now getting 37-39 all around average. The tuner probably did a decent job, but was only looking for the performance gain, if you didn't tell him you wanted to lean more toward good mileage how was he to know that's what you wanted? I think he should at least give you a cut rate on the second tune, but you have to let them know what you want, they can't read your mind.
