I have an 06 Ultra and got last years hogtunes for it and they sounded OK but weren't much better than stock Harmon's. I posted that comment on this board and almost imediately got an email from Hogtunes telling me they would hook me up with the new 2 ohm speakers when they came out. I said OK and figured that would be the last I heard from them. I was wrong, about 5 months go by and I get another email telling me the 2 ohms were available and they would swap me out no charge. I installed them last night and man what a difference. I have been into audio for years and I can tell you that considering these speakers are in the fairing of a motorcycle they rock. Their loud and actually very clear. I played rough boys by ZZ Top and in the beginning of that song there is some pretty low bass drums right in the beggining and these speakers handled it and sounded nice. If your consdering upgrading speakers, get the 2 ohm Hogtunes, especially if you have the Harmon Kardon system.

 

Thanks for the post. I also have the 06' HK stereo and put the older Hogtune speakers in about 3-4 months ago. Improvement over stock but not the drastic difference others reported with the 05' and earlier models. Been thinking about the new 2 ohm speakers, but didn't want to spend the money if the improvement wasn't significant. Thanks for letting me know. Now, if only Hogtunes would contact ME and offer me a swap!!

 

Well I hope I didn't open a can of worms for them but even if they don't make you that offer get the 2 ohms anyway. Someone will buy your current ones. You will NOT regret it.

 

Yeah, I planned on selling the speakers to cover half of the cost for the new ones. Your Ultra looks sharp. Nice clean look to it. Noticed you got some 18" wheels on her. How do you like the wheels? Any difference in handling from the 16's??

I'm not impressed easy and their the best speaker I've heard on a bike.

 

PEZ, I just put my order in for a set of 2 ohm speakers for my Street Glide.

Can't wait to get them installed and hear the difference.
