Talking D&D Fatcats

After having Reinharts installed on my 08 Sg I was actually never really happy with their sound. Being a short rider as well the left side pipe always bothered my inner left leg heat wise, especially while backing up. After alot of consideration and help from members on here I decided to have the D&D Fatcat installed and because I am a fan of the dual pipe look I also went with the ghost pipe install as well. I had the bike remapped and re dyno'd. I can honestly say my numbers didn't really get any better from the previous dyno sheet I had. Numbers now are Max power of 70.98 and peak torque is 81.61. I was at first a little disappointed with that. But having said that I was not out for and didn't really expect to see a drastic increase in performance. At about 25-2800 rpm's though the motor just seems to come to life. I mean the roll on throttle response is better than before. The big thing for me is the sound too. As I said I was not happy with the sound of the Reinharts . Once again coming up through the gears the bike sounds awesome. It backs down a little between shifts and if you happen to wind it up and coast down it really sounds incredible. With out the real pipe on the left side now the heat difference is amazing. No more burnt leg. I really like the look too. The ghost pipe retained the dual look I was after and gave me exactly what I was after in sound. I ordered these with the perforated baffle. This is supposed to be the loud one. I have to tell you it doesn't seem loud to me at cruising speed . But once again roll on the throttle and they really come to life. The chrome quality is awesome too. I wouldn't hesitate getting a set of these puppies.
Now all I need to do is sell a set of Reinharts. Anyone need a set!!

Glad you like'em. I added them last winter and have been very happy. I went from stock to Fatcats so I notice a little more heat on my right leg but non unbearable. I went with the quiet baffle and it's just right for me and also added the ghost pipe to keep the bagger symmetry. If I were doing again I would forget the ghost pipe. As you said the torque really kicks in about 2500.

Congrats. I agree the sound is sweet. Get on it an it comes alive. I also like when you are just tooling along in 2nd at a moderate rpm has a real nice thump.

The dual pipe look was a big deal a while back. I think it matters to very few now. The torque may be about the same at top rpm but the low end is what I'm after. I love mine and yours looks great too.
