iPod Mounted in Hard Bag on SG?
Looking for ideas on how people have mounted the ipod in the hard bags and still wired it to the AUX in.
Namely, looking for how you ran the long AUX cable.
I'm going to be using this remote control system:

I've got the Sony head unit w/ onboard IPod control so my 8GB nano is ziptied in a waterproof case under the seat. The control cable from the head runs out of the fairing and under the fuel tank console beside the vent line. Not exactly what you asked for, but maybe another possibility...

Take a look at what I'm doing.

I know having it in the hard bags is safer, but I just can't get myself to drill a hole in the bag.

How are you going to see the display? There isn't a great solution on the market for the iPod and the factory stereo. Trust me I have tried lot's. I just bit the bullet and have it mounted on my handle bars. Not the best looking, but nothing in existance is and still functional. None of the after market controllers work with the Harmon Kardon and they don't make one for Harleys. I just got the reply email from HK's customer service, no luck.

One of the main reasons why I went with an aftermarket deck. It charges and is controlled via the deck so no need to see the iPod display.

I had a small leather bag velcroed in the bag. I had my satellite radio in it. I ran the aux cable out the bag, under the seat and under the tank. I didn't hard wire the cable I just plugged it in and use a 90 end to get the cable out of the way. I listen to the same station most of the time so I didn't have to worry about changing channels much. It also kept it dry and safe.
