yeah surpig, with the shorty not only will your top speed increase noticeably, but your fuel mileage will increase too. i've gotten used to the long antenna on my streetglide, although it can be a potential eye poker for those who are walking around the bike.

Put the HD shorties on my ultra when the underground parking garage reached down and yanked out the long one that kept hitting pipes (ting, ting, ting) when I was riding along. Figured I wasn't going to let that happen a second time.

Very happy with the AM and FM reception, just as good as the long one IMHO - really don't know about the CB though, have never used it (what a wasted option on a bike, couldn't they give you a choice of a built in Cardo or bluetooth or something?)

That's a good dam antenna. It is wrapped with wire to increase reception and sealed with rubber. I experienced no loss of reception going from the buggy whip and an increased reception going from a plain rubber one.

And if an antenna can look good this one does - very good quality.

I was also curious as to quality of sound with the J&M shorty and BikeTronics shorty. Heck, the J&M is only $11 and the BikeTronics $20

I tried the H-D shorty on my 2010 Ultra Limited, liked the looks better but lost a lot of reception the further I got from the city which did not happen with the stock longer ones.
