I put on the 6 dollar rubber duck from Advance and it looks and works great. But reception in FL is easy. So results may vary.

Antenna_X on Ebay, item #170585071931 is a set of chrome antennas for Harley Ultra, both have US flags and are said to be tested for performance. Don't see any filters on them, don't see how they could work as well as the originals but they sure look good. Thinking of giving them a try.

I didn't notice any decrease in reception when I put the HD shorty on my SG.

Ditto, but it's pretty flat here in NE too..not much terrain to block RF. I'd say look at J&M's hidden antenna, or get an amp to boost power...good luck!

Got one this past summer... no complaints, and no noticeable difference in reception. There is a very noticeable difference in how many times I run into it when walking around the bike! It’s funny, after having that long antenna for a couple of years, I found myself still doing the antenna limbo with the shorty the first couple times I was working around the bike.

I was running a 'rubber duckie' AM/FM for the past couple of years.
This summer I switched to a H-D 'Shortie'...much better reception now.

I'm using the HD shorty Am/FM on an EGC, no problems on reception and it looks good.

So the advantage of the shorty is less wind resistance ergo more hi-end speed...? Just wondering!

Rubber Duck from Pep Boys works great for me when I am local.
I do put the stock one back on when I am on a trip as I may hit areas of poor reception and I think the extra height may help.
