Default Heated seats and grips

Those of you who have the heated seats and grips, how do you like them? Do they work?
Thanks

The heated grips are great!!! Our favorite month of the year to ride is October and we have ridden the Blue Ridge Parkway each of the last two from here in Southern Indiana, the heated grips really add to the comfort level from Oct into the winter months.

I'm on my third set of HD heated grips for my 08 UC. They have had a high failure rate for this product as seen on this site. My BMW heated grips lasted 12 years at which time I sold the bike still working. The heated seat feature is great, too.

Were these covered under your warranty? I purchased this stuff at the time I bought the bike (couple of weeks ago) The parts are in and they are installing today. Since they were purchased at the time I bought the bike and the dealer is doing the install I have to think that they would be covered by warranty. No?

I have the heated seat, its great, didn't go the heated grips but rather heated gloves cause they heat the back of your hand where its needed most and I'm not disappointed at -6 temps

Good point on the gloves. Had heated grips on my lowrider. Next bike I will rather go for gloves!

Default Heated Grips

Forget heated hand grips they just fail. I installed the Heat Demons that reside in the handlebars. Won't work for 2008-9 bikes yet. Ordered out of the Fat Book.

Ratkiller,

Yes, the dealer warranteed the grips both times but they must be getting tired of this. The normal 90 day warranty on these products was increased to 1 year by Harley-Davidson as customers got shy about buying them. I am not satisfied with the durability of these as it appears to be hit-or-miss. Perhaps the heated gloves would be better but working grips, like BMW has had for years, are wonderful.
