Default Ultra Classic '09 HOT on right side.

I am glad I did NOT trade in my '06 RKC.

I am finding at speeds 45mph - 60mph, there is a LOT of very HOT air rising off the right side regardless of the heat deflectors they come with, that is heating up the bottom of my RIGHT thigh.

When maintaining the above speeds, no matter how I have the bat wing air deflectors set, the heat is intolerable.

At lower speeds or speeds above 60 mph, it is someplace between fine and tolerable.

Anyone else finding this to be so?

Default Heat problem

Just got back from Miwauke 1850 mile trip with wife on back, rode in parade and got really warm engine. Did not notice it being any hotter than my 04, or my 07 Ultras. Sorry Bldr

Haven't ridden an 09 but my 08 will cook your legs and b@lls. Mine is ok once you are moving...stop and go traffic is when the problem becomes noticable. My 06 was hot too before I did the Stage 1 and added some fuel. I have everything to do the Stage 1 but I just haven't had time to get to it.

Do you still have the lowers on. Just got ship date on my new ultra 9/24/08 this will be my 3rd new ultra, as soon as it comes in the lowers come off and go in a closet and don't go back on until it's ready to be sold or traded. Try it could work for u too.

I have an 08, totally stock. I've been in stop and go traffic, and I will admit it can get hot. Intolerable? No, Maybe I'm just a bad ****

Thanks!

I thought I was the only person experiencing this! You are right it is on the bottom of your thigh and calf. Nothing on the left side just the right. I am planning on getting a set of mid frame air deflectors to see if this will alleviate this and you are right about the speed. It is very annoying!

you need to go to true duals, no more heat problems.

Same problem but not intolerable. I plan on getting highway pegs to solve the problem. Not I move my heal to the upper right of the running board and problem solved. Just got the stage 1 done today and power is way up and sound of Rush exhaust was great. I highly recommend going away from stock and at least get the stage 1. I am having the Super Tuner installed when the new 09 software comes out.
Heat is not that big a deal on right leg. My 06 would cook you a$$ until I got a PC111 to take care of it. Same with the 09.

Default Hot!!!

I just took my new 08 on a long trip, man it was hot! I put the Stage II kit in before delivery. I keep getting different ways of cooling it down, from another chip, oil cooler, true dual exhuast etc.. if any one figures it out let me know. I was used to my 06 FATBOY, man do I miss it!
