I bought an 08 electra glide classic in another state and am going to haul it back on my flat bed pickup. I would like to know if there is a good place at the back of the bike to hook tie down straps to. It's an 800 mile trip so I thought it might be better to secure it both front and back. Thanks
When I trailer my Ultra Classic, 4 tie-down points - 2 tie-downs on the front bars, and 2 tie downs wrapped around the passenger floorboard mounts, everything anchored so the ties are going towards the front of the bike...
Or you get a couple 5/16-18 lifting eyes and replace the light bar to fork fasteners with them in the front for a tie down point there. But thats over thinking it I guess.
watch when you tie it down on front by the handel bars that you don't run the strap by the cig lighter, hd dealer did that to mine and the strap went up against the lighter and ingauged the lighter and melted the inner fairing. i was inform on the day of delivery, all taken care of but what a downer.
