back in the saddle
I haven't had a bagger since I sold my 90 classic 24 years ago. it was for a good cause: I bought 6 acres of land and built my house. That changed this spring when I traded (even steven) the '94 Kubota BX-23 tractor in the background for this beauty.
It was on Craigslist and located about 250 miles away. It's a 2011 with 9100 miles. After making arrangements with the seller, I trailered the tractor down and didn't really know what to expect. Who knows with craigslist? There was a distinct possibility that this was a scam or I might get robbed (or worse!).
The good news is I scored! I hopped on and rode the 250+ miles back home without any surprises. The bike was flawless aside from needing a good detailing. I only replaced the tires since they were 11 years old but had lots of tread. The buyer was very happy with the Kubota, and the best thing was not a penny was exchanged. I've bartered and traded all my life, but never for something this expensive! I notarized a copy of the agreement and it only cost like 20.00 for the title too. Fun fact: in Ohio, she said it was illegal to trade vehicles without money changing hands! That's crazy, but she quizzically processed my title anyway and said, 'the state wants the sales tax money' lol
So I am a very happy guy! I love this bike!!! Do you guys think i did ok? The tractor had low hours-about 1000 and i paid 10,500 for it about ten years ago. And I also got a trailer to tow the bike with!!
