Default Warranty Question

I have about 700 miles on my new SG. We have a trip planed that will cover about 700 miles before I will make it too my first 1000 mile service. Should I wait untill I get back and do it or go ahead and do it now? I won't have a chance to put any more miles on before the trip.

I do my own work so I will be doing the service and I don't want any warranty problems from the MoCo.

What would you guys do?......Do it now or wait and do it with about 1400 mile plus on the odometer?

Thanks!

without a moco dealer code in your owners book for the service warrenty is at the discretion of the hd dealer. do it early for intial breakin then swap oil when you get home

Do it now, just keep all the reciepts just in case. Talk to the dealer when you return, maybe he'll log your service as done in the HD database. If he wants your busness, he will.

NO QUESTION> DO IT NOW! Especially on a new bike, this is critical. It'd be fine if you had 10,000 miles on it and you were going to go over a couple of hundred, but this is crucial in my opinion. Early and often when breaking in a new scoot. I've had great success with that practice. Good Luck on your trip.

You can do the service yourself and don't need any moco code Thats the LAW. just keep your reciepts for the oil , filter , ect.

Now, especially it being a new bike--and go over the bike carefully since it's new, to check fasteners, etc.--too often dealerships do sloppy pre-delivery set-ups.

wrong, if they require the dealer to do it, then it has to be provided at no cost. but, you should keep receipts to prove that it has been done. re: magnusson-moss warranty act.
