Default 08/09 cruise control - how does it suit you?

got a 08 Ultra, buddy bought a 09 Road Glide.

he bought the 09 saturday, and we went to Blue Ridge Parkway.

on interstate, on way back, the bikes would not stay together with the cruise on:
on hills, my bike would try to pass him, and
on the flat ground, his would pull away from mine.

got pipes & AC on mine, both bikes were empty (stuff in the chase truck)
both guys about same size

it is kinda jerky when you try and adjust it.

My '08 cruise is very smooth and positive. My buddy has a Goldwing and we followed each other for 2,800 miles to and from Sturgis last month and neither of us had a problem staying together with the cruise on.

My '08 cruise works flawlessly! I installed mine after I purchased the bike. The dealer didn't have a bike with cruise, so ordered it from Zanotti's at a considerable savings over retail. I had the cruise installed in an hour and the local dealer activated it for free. I used it on an 800 mile ride the following weekend and didn't have one single issue. Gotta love the cruise!

I don't know about riding along with some one else, but mine seems to be just find on a flat, and with the speedometer. I sure like it though!!!

The cruise on my 08 also works flawlessly. So far everyone I ride with stays at the same pace that has their cruise set.

I have an 09 Ultra and the cruise seems to work nicely. It does however have a problem with the actual speed. I had a friend follow me home and the faster I go the more my speedo is off. At 50 it is off 1 - 2 MPH, at 60 it is off 3 MPH, at 70 it is off 4 MPH. This is via a GPS. Gets worse the faster I go.

The indicated error gets worse the faster you go because it's a fixed percentage of error. At 30 it's almost imperceptible but at 60 it's twice what it was at 30 and at 90 it's 3 times what it was at 30. Right?

I haven't played with it enough yet, but I hear the TTS tuner will provide for calibration of the speedometer...

I never got that tecnical with it, but I would say you are dead on. I was riding and I asked a buddy who was following me to check my speed against his GPS and it sounds about right the way you describe it. Can you explain in more detail the fix? Thanks. TTS?

My buddy rides a Nomad, and he has only a throttle lock on his. He insists that my cruise control varies 2-3 mph going up or down hills. I tell him he is all wet, that the cruise varies about 1 mph maximum when the load changes.

My speedo is 2 mph fast at 50-70 according to roadside radar setups.
