Visor-style trim ring looks terrible!

Had it on three different bikes and never had a gap. Dunno what I am doing right. Or others are doing wrong.

Maybe find a way to install the opriginal 'rubber ring" onto the
new piece?
I just bought one today and installed it (%20 off Labor day sale) but
I didn't look for a gap.

The visor on my 02 Ultras headlamp has no gap , but then ones on the passing lamps are HUGE!

Thanks for the feedback. I will try the more aggressive "smack" method of installation.
Cegusa, nice pics, thanks. Slightly different bezel though. Mine is the visor-style. I wonder if that makes a difference with fit?
