Default Changing 08 Ultra Seat

I have an 08 Ultra and the stock seat is getting to be a pain. Considering going to a Sundowner or Mustang, any suggestions or votes for either. Many thanks.

I am 5'9 and I could not stand the stock seat so I went with a Mustang one piece touring seat and it is great. However it moves you apx 1" closer and I need that anyway

The Sundowner's a good option. It sits you a little lower and further forward but also angles you back a bit. It's not as comfortable for my long legs when my feet are on the boards but it's excellent when on the highway pegs. The foam feels more dense and the seat doesn't form ridges like the stocker on long hauls. IMO it's worth the money and Momma finds it much more comfortable

I guess butts are different,,,I went from a Sundowner to an Ultra and found it to be way better in comfort for me and the wife...when not riding 2 up i like the stock seat as its sleeker in design..

I have a 2008 ultra. I tore a hole in my seat wearing hiking boots that have the hooks for lacing up my shoes. I tried patching it, didn't last. Ordered a Mustang Regal with the buttons and the buttons pop off. If you go Mustang, I'd recommend the smooth saddle. Frankly I liked the stock seat better than the mustang. However I'm a big guy and I felt like I was sitting on the rear support of the mustang. I've actually bought another stock seat and can tell that after break in period, if works good for me.

I find wearing moisture wicking clothes, using powder works better than any saddle change. I used to ride long distance on bicycles and the main thing was to get the butt in shape and wear the correct clothing.

Good luck.

Default Seats

Most of the stock seats are too soft. Try a Mustang, Corbin or any brand that is firm and has a smooth cover. A lot of the designs on seats look good but if your going to ride a lot after a while it's like sitting on rocks. Your height and weight also needs to be considered to be really comfortable.
