We just did a set of 20" and used +16 on the cables and +13 on the wires but I would go +14 on the wires if I were to do it again. You should need +10 on the cables and +8 on the wires. If you have any questions E-Mail me.

I used +8" cables for my 16" Apes on my FLHRI, I would suspect that a +6" would get it done. If you are interested, I have a brand new set of Barnett +6" cables that were a little short for my 16" apes that I would let go for $50 plus shipping. Drag specialties p/n --DS-223482 & DS-223480.

you should contact wild one, they will tell you exactly what you need, my guess would be +6 all around

Thumbs up

Ditto what XGuy said. I emailed them via their site http://www.wild1inc.com/
For my 16" Apes they were dead on when they said +10 on the Idle, throttle and Brake. The Clutch was +8. I did my own extension on the wiring. It took 25" each wire.
Check out my "how-to" I just posted a couple days ago https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touring-models/271781-a-how-to-guide-for-ape-install.html

I just put a set of the WO572's on my 08 King, and I am pretty sure that Johnny over at HDBIKEPARTS.COM said that he sent a +6 over stock on the clutch, and a +8 over stock for the brake line, it is just the stock clutch has a lot of slack in it, there was just enough length in the TBW that I didn't need to extend them, and the rest of the bar conrtols were snug with 16" extensions, everything fit pertfect and looks fantastic.
I would give Johnny a call, he will do good by you.
Just my .02
Oh it is not the hight of the bars that got me, it was that I didn't acount for the extra 3 inches of pull back

Hi All,

Given that the RK classic has cruise standard .. what length is required for the cruise?

Not sure I was given the wrong advice but I was told that if I went to 16" apes on my classic I would have to lose the cruise control setup?

Can anyone shed light on this? Has anyone gone to 14-16" apes and kept their cruise control setup? If so what was needed to keep it?

I have a 2007 RK Classic

cheers
