I met Tom Cruise back in the early 90's at a gas station he was cool talked with and my friends for about 15 minutes I was 17 at the time. Also met Paul Newman he was not so nice I used to live in Westport CT so I saw a ton of others. Paul I saw in the grocery store and I knew my Gram would love to have his autograph so I asked him ( I was 17 at the time) he flipped out and was cursing and all.

I also met Obama before he ran for president, Bill Clinton. My family grew up friends with theWalberg family so I knew Donnie and mark, at that time Donnie was famous with New Kids on the block and Mark was one tough dude. last I saw either of them was about 10 years ago but they both had a beer with me talking about when life was easy. I was thinking about contacting Mark but I did not want to seem like one of those guys LOL

Connie Francis did a show for us in Nam, 1967 I think, she was the only celebraty to make it down to our base the year I was there. After the show she spent about an hour sitting and talking with a bunch of us home sick N.Y. guys, very special lady

Had dinner with Walter Cronkite and Andy Rooney...oh wait, that's right...I was in the kitchen, they were in the dining room. Small restaurant in Caribbean, actually did get to talk to them a bit afterwards.

Very short list compared to some.
Jack Palance - liquor store in Hobbs merica, drove up in an 70's Ford Pinto and it seemed like it took him a year to get out of the thing.
Slim Pickens - El Paso, TX airport, I recognized his voice and when I looked at him, he quit talking and looked down.
Robert Duval - Jewelery store Santa Fe NM during the taping of Lonesome Dove, same as Slim, once he noticed I recognized him... he moved away.
Doug Kershaw (Cajun fiddler) - elevator in the Four Queens Las Vegas, little guy
and finally
Jay Leno - Universal Studios California, we were waiting in line for the park to open and he was escorted by to tape some scenes for the "Tonight Show". Touched my shoulder and actually said "excuse me", polite and short.

I was in an issue of Hot Rod magazine, does that count?

I shook David Allan Coe's hand at some bar in Taylor, Michigan.

Drank Miller lites and watched a Lakers game with Gene Simmons and all of Black sabbath in the late 80's at a Holiday Inn in Cleveland. My mom went out with Evil Kenevil when I was a kid, he lived down the block from us when we lived in Escondido, Ca. Steve Parks used to get his bikes at our dealership, I didn't work on them but we did all his motor work and dyno tuning

The DC Madam was a personal friend of mine. She was actually a very nice person. Spent some time with Walt and Roy Disney one afternoon. Also met Mr Stuckey. The black cop in the police movie that made the funny noises lived across the street from me for about a year.

Met a touring model forum and wondered what this thread had to do with it...

Drank Blanton Bourbon with Tim Passmore, Jimmie Jo Rozier, and the rest of the Travis Tritt Band in Lexington KY at the Hyatt lobby bar after the show. Nice guys, apparently Travis doesn't "socialize" with anyone.

Have an old Alvarez acoustic guitar that has autographs of many different artists I have been fortunate to meet, all of Diamond Rio, T.T. Band (mentioned above), George Strait, George Jones, Vince Gill (super nice guy), Mud River Union(small upstart band), Alan Jackson, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Tracy Bird, and a few more.

Once ate breakfast next to "GrandPa Jones", in a Shoney's in Nashville TN.

And am proud to say that my father served in Vietnam in 1967, and my grandfather served in WW II

Thanks to Teardrop for keeping me grounded on this one.
