Default Ultra Classic 08 or 09 ??

Greetings from Ireland. I am negotiating the purchase of a new Ultra Classic. I currently have a 02 Road King. I have the choice between a 08 UC, 08 UC Anniversary Edition or an 09 which will be launched in Ireland in a couple of weeks. Some of you may think that this is a no brainer but still I want to make the right decision, hopefully !! I may yet decide to hang on to the RK, bearing in mind that the cost of any Harley-Davidson is double what it is in the USA. Any input into solving my "problem" will be greatly appreciated. Great site, by the way.

There are quite a few major improvements/modifications on the '09. There is such beautiful riding country in Ireland, I would advise you to get the '09 and make the most of it.

I really like the changes that are on the '09, but I'm not dumping my '07 to get an '09. If I were in your position I would go for the '09 assuming finances allowed. Bottom line buy the bike that creates the biggest smile when you look at it, any of the new bikes you listed will serve you well.

not sure what the differences in pricing will be between the 08 and the 09 but here in Canada there was not much difference and with all the changes in the 09 it was a very easy decision for me. go with the 09, you will not regret it! Welcome to the board by the way!

IF you can afford it, go with the 09 ultra. The improvements are worth it. I've looked at two different ones and the wheels are turning on how I can make the step up from my 07 ultra. I love my 07 and was getting ready to upgrade the motor but rethinking that now.
Ride safe!

I love my '07, '08s didn't have enough changes, if I didn't have an '07 I'd go for the '09. Since I have an '07 I'm planning on waiting to see what 2010 brings.

There's only a few hundred dollars difference from the 2008 to the 2009. There are so many changes and improvements on the 2009, that it almost makes no sense to buy a 2008, unless the dealer gives you a whopping big discount.

I have an 08 and it's a great bike, I bought it new. If I had that option I would go 09.
