Do you keep it on a battery tender or other type of trickle charger? It can loose charge in a weeks time, especially when it is hot out.

I do have a trickle charger but did not realize that a battery could go down that quick. I will start hooking it up then.

consider looking at this link to double check your charging system.
http://www.expertvillage.com/video/1...attery-two.htm

after rule-out charging then look at other things like:
1-is the fuel pump allowed to prime before hitting starter?
2-how much fuel in the tank when this happens? to rule-out possible hole in gas line inside the tank...it would happen when fuel is less than 1/2
3-if you have something electrical that causes a drain...alarm, blinking light for security etc. and do not ride the bike for a a week or two..i could see you having problems starting or right after start if battery is not 100% charged..possible solution would be a battery tender.
* i would think that it would be something simple...

Default thanks im......

I do wait for the electronic fuel pump to finish priming before hitting the start button. And there is at least 4 gallons of gas in the tank right now. As soon as I get home I am finding the trickle charger and getting it all set up to start hooking up after a ride. I sure hope it is as simple as this.

I am very impressed with the response time and everyones help on this forum. This is my first post and will definately not be my last.

check the way the battery cables are connected. if they are connected where the weight can pull counterclockwise a cable can loosen and the battery not be effective. learned this years ago when GM went to side terminals. if you cannot orient the cables so they pull clockwise to stay tight then zip tie the cables so thay can't move counterclockwise and loosen the connector screws.

Moisture in the tank? My 05 does this on occasion. Did it this past Saturday after riding through a monsoon Friday..Just a thought.

check for a broken fuel injector wire. there is a TSB on it. dealer covered the repair under emissions warranty on my 2002 RKC

May be the feeder tube in the gas tank has been rubbing(in the tank) and gotten a pin hole causing the needed pressure to be lost (squirting the gas back into the tank)!

Mine is a 2002 FLHRI (14,000kms) and when not in use it's hooked to a battery tender and I also don't let the fuel level get below 1/2 in the tank. Maybe this doesn't have anything to do with anything but I haven't noticed any running irregularities with mine. I'll keep watching this to see how your problem turns out.
