Default cruise control cable lash RK CLASSIC 08

-Hi there friends... I've read much about this in the forum.. my question is...will I follow same procedure than for previous years models?.. Ive tried cable lash indication and doesn't work for my 08 road king... any body did it?

thanks...

what I tried,,,

Cruise Control Cable Lash Initialization
For Harley Touring Models

1.) With the Ignition off, push the right cruise switch to RESUME and hold it there.

2.) Push the left cruise on/off button to ON.

3.) Turn on the ignition switch and crank the engine. The GREEN ENGAGED light will illuminate for three seconds and go out. When it goes out, release the RESUME switch.

4.) With the bike still running, push the right cruise switch to RESUME again and hold it while the unit pulls in the slack in the cable. When the engine revs up a bit and the green light goes out again, release the RESUME button and turn the ignition switch off.

it did not work on my 08 bike,, thanks

Your '08 has an electronic throttle, so the cable lash initialization procedure is irrelevant--there is NO cable to adjust.

I just installed cruise on my 07 Road King. I have a service manual for 2006 touring models, so I used that sequence to initialize my set up. I did just as "paconick" did, I can't get the green light to go out. It did change rpm as it stated it should, but no green light action. Any ideas? Do I need to visit my dealer?
