Default New Owner of Road Glide!

Fellas,

Just got my first touring bike on Sunday and got myself and 07 Road Glide. I guess its true - you either hate how they look or love'em and I'm the later.

I've had an old 1980 Shovel, a few stripped down bobbers and my last bike was a 2003 Big Dog Pitbull, Rigid with a 107 S&S that hauled ***! I wasn't sure if going with such a big touring bike was for me - but one ride on that bad girl and I can't believe I had been missing out for this long.

Great forum here with a ton of info.

Luckily the previous owner of this bike took car of alot of the work for me as it has Rhinehart tru duals, SERT download and SE Stage I. Also he added some nice chrome here and there and the back of the bike was lowered (it has different shocks and looks lower than the front?) Either way, this is where I take over and start adding some more!!!

- He musta been 5'4 because these bars are tiny - from most reading i see: WG Bars, Wild 1 513's and a few others, CycleSmith bars, etc. if I'm missing out any let me know - because I'm shooting for some nice 10in 1 1/4 mini apes without too much pull back.

- Read about the rear stabalizer kit - thats definelty on the to do list as well as I've felt a little shake occasionally

- I see these things run hot. Glad most of the performance mods have already been done. Plan on switching to Mobil 1 sometime soon. It gets hot - but nothing unbearable. My old Big Dog got hot and after I changed to synthetic it was tolerable. No big deal right. Just hit the highway!

Anything else I might be missing?

Either way, great to meet you fellas and if anyones going to the Key West Poker run or Biketoberfest i'm down in Miami and plan on heading to both so I'll buy you a beer!

quick plug - I don't normally do this unless its warranted. i hear horror stories of the "stealer" and I'm sure there are, but on the day I went and the guy I spoke to at Rossmeyer's in Sunrise, FL - those guys took great care of me.

See ya on the road guys

Nice ride with the road glide haze 324.........you will now notice people whispering behind your back, along with pointing fingers and snickering as you ride by....
These people are jealous and envious of your scoot....
Bought mine 3 months ago and the finger-pointing and whispering hasn't stopped yet....

Ride safe

Even with experience behind you, you can still learn something new(previous bike ownership). My story is pretty much the same as yours, with me picking up a nice used, 1998 RG recently. I'm really enjoying it.
