Thumbs up Report on K&N air filter

I replaced the Screamin Eagle stage I filter with a K&N (part # HD-0800). I notice a significant difference. I'm no human dyno but when I crack open the throttle, I can hear the difference. It really screams now. Besides the sound, the throttle responce at WOT is noticably better. Mostly at the top end in 5th and 6th gears. After filling up 3 times, I've noticed the milage seemes to be slightly better too (even though I've been running it a lot harder than I usually do).

Yes, a K&N filter usually has that affect. It allows more air to flow into your engine. Better for your engine in the long run as well.

Not only do they let your engine flow more air, the filter element itself will outlast both you and your bike with a minimal amount of cleaning and re-oiling. I use K&N filters on both my bikes and my 15 year old Ford Bronco!

I've been a K&N fan for a while. I have 4 of them on my '66 Corvair and the complete cold air intake on my '07 Silverado.

The key here is filtration of the air into the carb and, ultimatly the engine. The thin coating of oil picks up those micro dust particles well. Leads to longer engine life, cleaner oil in the crankcase, less friction on the parts. Not the most stylish looking out there but, excellent functioning.
