Either their product is not up to par, or they have us brainwashed thinking it has to be serviced all the time. Harley make a ton of $$ off of this. I know from years of experience that OIL in a air shock line is not good, or ancient technology.
hmmm, my 07 needs nothing more than basic service (ie. scheduled services at 5k,10k etc...)22,000 so far and no issues.

as far as 2 different kind of forks, yeah, they used to do that. i'm not sure of the date range on that though. let me guess, your left fork was a cartridge style.

where the shocks are concerned, i'd go with ancient technology. there are several places where they recommend putting some air in before bleeding air out to prevent oil from coming out. they also tell you to store them upright to keep oil from leaking as well. if you use the hd shock pump (or something similar) it has a bleed down valve that lets air out very slowly without spraying oil all over. its definitely a good investment.

This is a great pump. I have had one for a year or so now, and it works great.

You get on here bad mouthin a Harley and YOU dont know what YOU are doing?? The nice thing about these air/oil shock is you can empty out the old oilo and replace with fresh new oil. I just rolled over 80K on my 1999 Ultra with no repairs just maintence, Maybe you got one that was very poorly taken care of, Or you may have bought a bike that was worked on by someone else that dont' know what they were doin either. But your bike is 6 yrs old and will require some wrenchin . If it's too much work for you sell it and get yourself another Honda
+1 Well said
