I will say this about ABS with 21/18 tire & wheel combo...I have no problems with my ABS working properly. I've slammed on the brakes a couple of times since having the 21/18 combo and the brakes just pulsated to a stop just like they are suppose to...no issues.

I'm no Guru nor do I know anything about ABS, but I do know fact through my own personal experience. Plus, I've never had an issue with ABS on any of my trucks that I've put 35" tires on, huge difference over stock.

I think MoCo states what they do in the owners manual to be super cautious so they can CYA and not be held liable.

Again...I know nothing about ABS and may be way off. Just my opinion.

Thanks for your input. I too have the 21"x18" set up w/ABS. Same as you ,I have exrienced the pulsating as is the norm while coming to an good abrubt stop. If this is not normal, someone else please comment. By the as for the original question. I am also 5'8" and lowered 1" with Race Tech w/ gold emulators (Thanks again XXX), rides much better back where it belongs ,and not anything to be concerned about with too stiff a ride. Handles great. I rode a couple months before lowering.

Neckball has a good point............most of the 21's ars rated low 60's on the load rating that is around high 500s or low 600s little scary for a 750 lb scoot

I have an 07 SG with the 21/18 wheels. I also have a 30" inseam. I went with the Race Tech springs to lower the front 1". It fits me better after installing the springs.

As far as the handling of the bike after the 21/18, I don't think it handles as well as the stock set up for my riding style. I ride mostly two lane country roads and when I go into turns hard I now get a side to side wobble in the front end. If I had it to do over I think I would go with the 18/18 set up.

I've had the 21/18 combo, and the 18/18. Both bike have been sold, and the one I'm doing now is going to be 18/16.

Is it safe to ride with a 21/18 set up on a ultra? Or is 18/18 the biggest I can go?

You've got to remember the weight of the bike is distributed between the front and rear tire. Not all the 750lbs is sitting on the front tire. At 584lbs, I'm pretty sure I'll be just fine.

I can't believe this option even exists after all the 21 inch rims I've relaced onto hubs over the years.. even the 19's had enough sidewall to take a hit from a piece of pipe or a 2x4... the 21's just cave in the rim. No chance I would even consider it.
