Firecap,

I have a few questions...

What would a similar amp from your shop cost (same output and features)?
How does it compare size- and weight-wise?
Do you offer and idiot-proof cabling setup like they do (or can one use their interconnect cabling with your amp)?

If your stuff is cheaper, smaller, and easier to install, then I'm all for it. But if not, the simplicity and size of the Hawg-Wired stuff may be worth the extra bucks to someone with limited time or skill.

I think you get what you pay for. The reason I like Hawg wired is;
Its digital=less heat and amperage draw.
Its compact and highly vibration resistant.
The speakers are weatherproof and dont distort
It is plug n play
The customer service is far superior. I had an installation issue and the guy at HW gave me his personal cell number to call him back on a weekend if I didnt figure the problem out.
It has been over a year now and not a single issue. Now add digital radio to it and the clarity is the best Ive ever heard.
Of course some people like the ghetto blaster sound, but I know folks that had custom systems in and 20-30 mins being on w/o the engine running and they need a jump, and they have nagging issues which Im sure has something to do with longevity and vibration. My $.02

Harry

Specs between the 1202 and the 125.2

125.2 1202

2ch. 2ch.
output RMS @ 4ohms 2x70 output RMS @ 4ohms 2x60
output RMS @ 2ohms 2x125 output RMS @ 2ohms= no specs
output RMS @ 4 ohms bridge 1x250 output RMS @ 4ohms bridge=no specs

THD .05% @ 100watts 4ohms THD .010% @ 60watts 4ohms

size 8.25x4.85x1.75 6.50X3.75X1.50

Plug and Play no Plug and Play Yes

Cost $329.00 $495.95
Shipping $0 $ ?

1 power 1 ground to battery
1 switched power to behind head light

I have played this amplifier for several hours while working in my garage and have yet to kill the battery. You can put your hand on this amplifier and it is luke warm.

I was not running down Hawg Wired equipment, just a simple statement that that is a lot of money nothing more nothing less.

The 125.2 is an alternative to those who would want to save the $166.95 and run 3 wires themselves.

Bagman

As far as customer service ask the members here about that. They have my personal phone# and I answer any questions they have and help with any install issues, day night or weekend or holiday. I dont think you can make a good un bias comparison on customer service if you have only dealt with one of the co. involved.

Bagman you better read up on your digital amp. T stands for Tripath name of co. that makes the chip.

Rather than using digital signal processing, class T amplifiers use an overall loop that is similar to a higher order Delta-Sigma (ΔΣ) (or sigma-delta) modulator. While it is called a digital amplifier, the class T amplifier is almost entirely analog

Have you got a link for the 125.2? Also, what about the speaker wires? Won't you have to run them also? I'm not afraid to wire stuff (hell I wired over $20K in electronics on my boat, which included some 28 gauge wires, etc), but I like plug and play a lot better if it's worth the price.

Thanks for the update. I was told when I bought it it was digital. Oh well. It works for me.

harrydavidson the only speaker wiring is to cut the clip to the speaker. run the speakers wire to the amp then run the wires from the amp to the speaker. if you choose to run componet speakers IE separate tweeters and mids. then crossoverscome into play. firecap can walk you thru this easy install. remember this is just a vehical. no harder to wire than your car!!
