Hi, original poster here. Thank you so much for the replies. It's what I needed to hear. 70 posts in and we're still on topic, that's great. Less than 24 hours after posting this thread, and now thanks to you all, I'll get the bike I want first, instead of "easing back in" to riding. I took & passed the MSF course back in the 90s. I might take it again or do something as a refresher. I can't wait to ride again. Too many people pass me on the road on RKs, EGs, RGs and make me jealous. Now, all I need to do is get the money together... Thanks again.

 

I did the rider safety coarse 3 years ago and purchased a Honda XR 650L shortly after. Rode it for 5000k. last time off (working Offshore) I picked up an 09 Ultra classic Vivid Black, I only have 140k on it so far because it rain for 4 days straight and I had to come back out here. My brother has an 03 and I rode it a couple of times and loved it. I could think of getting any thing else.
