My first bike was a honda trail 70 when I was 11, Im 47 now and took the Riders Edge class in April and 1 week later bought an 08 Ultra. The only problem was why in the world did I wait untill 47 to buy a bike.

Last time I was on a motorcycle I was trying out a Yamaha 100 some 35 years ago. after my retirement from the United States Navy I decided to trade my Porsche Boxster S for my first Harley ever, an 07 RKC didn't have a license at the time so I am who might call a self thought rider 9k miles later. I am glad I started out with a bike I enjoy riding and not worry about starting out with a smaller bike and trade up later down the road.

My first bike is my 08 RKC. Started riding at 58 y.o. Took the HD Rider's Edge course last May, ordered RKC in Aug, got it in Oct. Have 6k miles so far.

Start slowly, know your limitations, and have fun. Let your confidence build, don't get cocky.

Riding is a blast. Feel like a complete idiot for waiting this long to start.

Go for it. MSF will help and be careful.

I hadn't ridden a bike for over 20 years and I got bought a Honda VTX1300 to get back into it. Rode it for 3 years but my wife wasn't comfortable on it so I'm now on the Ultra Classic which I love.

Had a few dirt bikes in the 70s, hadn't rode since then until I bought my RKC last year. It did take a while to brake a few habits. Looking for and Ultra now.

Yes, my first street bike was my 06 SG. Took it to a local small airport, ran up n down the tarmac and runways to get my confidence up before I did alot of street riding. I highly reccomend getting comfortable on the bike as they are heavy and have alot of torque. Takes a couple weeks to get the feel.

Have fun n be safe!

Serious. Rode Jap bikes forever. Sport not cruisers. Had a long layoff for personal reasons. Got back in and started up on my '06 Ultra. Figured I wanted one anyway so why not get on it. Go for it. You already know how to ride. You'll pick it up right away if you work at it a bit.

GL and all the best!

My first bike after 25 years of not riding was a Softtail Deuce. After 3K miles I knew I wanted a more comfortable ride. The Road Glide has provided that for me!

Default Back after 41 years

I had a Honda Super Hawk 305cc in the 60's until I joined the Army. Hadn't been on a bike until June of this year. Told my wife I wanted to get a Harley. She went to the dealership with me and while I was looking at softails she was looking at Ultra Classics... now I own a 105th Ann UC! Bought the bike & had it delivered to my home. Took the class and got my license endorsed and now I am enjoying my new ride! Just do it!!
