Smile Sundowner solo

I love this seat and have over 50,000 miles on it. After spine surgery, this was the only seat I could use, and I tried them all. It does seat you alittle higher and abit closer to the bars, but that worked for me. I'm 5'8".

I have been running a mustang for 20K miles, I love it. I didn't get the one with the backrest, kinda wish I did, but I have a solo mount for my tour pak, it works great for the long rides!

Mustang Tripper Solo seat, low profile seat that allows you to change positions. Had the Mustang plain solo with backrest but didn't like the position it put me in. Moved me forward and slightly up and the seat contour sorta prevents you from shifting around. Comfortable seat to be sure but just didnt fit me.

I used a total of three Corbins on my last bike, a '96 RK, and rode it through 33 states in nine years. The first was a Classic Solo, which was the best of the Corbin lot. It pulled me back about 2" which was a bit too much, so I bought a Close-up version, which oddly was very uncomfortable at first. I complained to Corbin and they fixed it in warranty, but although acceptable it was never quite as comfortable as the first. The third was a Hollywood Solo I bought on Ebay for $90 which looked good but was otherwise a joke. I sold it within a month for more than I paid for it. Don't buy the Hollywood Solo for any reason other than appearance and doing short hops between bars.

I went to Mustang on my '07 SG, mostly because I could buy a solo with backrest for $200 less than the Corbin competition. It is not leather, but only the seating portion of the Corbin was leather, and I see no disadvantage to the vinyl--plus, it is easier to maintain. This seat (#79100) is as comfortable as the first Corbin, which is to say top tier. If comfort and price are the biggest concerns, I would recommend the Mustang with backrest. I can't speak for individual taste as far as appearance is concerned, but I like the looks of this seat and feel it fits in with the SG's styling very well. I'm also using a fender bib from www.timberwolfleather.com.

I had a Mustang on my last bike and loved it. I could ride all day and not get sore. I love the looks of the C & C but i'm not sure of how the ride is.

My favorite is the one that I own! Monterey solo by Lepera. Custom carved by Lepera, no need for a back rest to bolt on like the corbin or Mustang, has awesome lower back support just the way it is stock. Great fit and finish and flat out works great for short or long hauls.

Yes, a Mustang solo seat will indeed make you feel like you are sitting on top of the bike. I am 5'9" and ride a 08' EGC. Sent the Mustang back for a full refund and bit the bullet and ordered a Corbin Classic Solo. I was a little hesitant because Corbin does not offer refunds on their new seats. Best thing I ever did! I think Corbin is a little too proud of their products but in this case I must say one gets what the pay for. With the Corbin you will not feel like you are sitting on your gas tank. The Corbin seats sit you further back. A great seat. In fact I am about to order the backrest to go along with it.
