Default OUCH!! Ontario Insurance Rates

Just received my renewal for next year's insurance in the mail. A whopping $1675 for the year. 2007 Street Glide and I have a clean record with no points or accidents for more than 10 years. This made me reconsider riding, just the thought of getting so badly gouged by the insurance company. After a couple of inquiries found an alternative quote for $1020 with better coverage. I guess it pays to shop around for rates, the agent actually advised me that it's best to do this every renewal period. How are the rates in your region? I think in Canada we pay too much for just about everything.

I live in Ontario, and I've been pleased with my rates for the last few years, but I'm hearing from others that Echelon is cranking the rates up when the renewals come out.
Mine is due soon, so we'll see I guess.

Manitoba.
Around $2k/yr with a clean record for an 02 E-Glide.

We have no option to shop for insurance here. Manitoba Public Insurance is the only game in the province.

RidersPlus in Etobicoke has been the best I've found. The underwriting insurance company is Echelon General

www.ridersplus.com

very good for touring bikes

Wow, mines $179 a year with very good coverage on 08 Ultra and it covers all the extras I've added to the bike.

I'm reasonably pleased with mine, ranging from $525/yr (1997 FLSTS) to $650/yr (2008 FLTR). My 2003 FLSTS sits around $575/yr. Each is full coverage, and full replacement value, not just market. All through State Farm. Many insurance agencies won't even look at Harleys around here.
