Today I was checking out the 2009 Road Kings at a HD dealer and struck up a conversation with one of the parts guys about interchanging saddlebags (RKC – Leather covered) with the RK (hard bags) or visa versa.

He told me that either type (RK or RKC) of pre-2009 bags would NOT fit on the 2009 touring models due to the new frame on the 09 bikes.

I am relatively new at this Harley thing….. Does that sound right? Has anyone looked into that?


I had thought if I bought a RK I could get a set of RKC bags off ebay and have two sets of bags.

It may be a long time before 2009 bags start showing up on ebay.
