Default M-1107 Service Bulletin '99 and newer FL models

I finally got around to doing this Service Bulletin M-1107 which has to do with oil seeping through the stator wires. The oil seeps from the primary case into the wires and collects in the stator/voltage regulator connector.

When I pulled this connector apart on my '00 Road King I had at least two tablespoons of primary oil inside it! If your 99' or newer FL model has this connector under the right side of the frame and has not been moved I would do this service bulletin ASAP. Take a look under the right side floor board, if you have a large connector clipped on the inside of the frame and the wires go to the voltage regulator you probably should do this service.

Below is a link to service bulletin M-1107.

Service Bulletin #1107

Many a stator has burned out due to the oil shorting the contacts. And, of course, Harley won't publize the issue. The fix is a wiring extension that elevates the connector so oil can't run down to the connector.

You don't have to extend the wires, just move them. Takes a few minutes and 5 black snap ties.

Seems to be a old TSB, but worth looking to see if my bike is routed like this or like the "new" style...
