Default Ultra Classic Seat 08 Upgrade

I have 4k on my 08 Ultra and want to upgrade the stock seat. The oversized zeplin Harley seat isn't made for the 08 which is the one I was interested in. I made my first long road trip doing 1200 miles in four days and was satisfied with the stock seat however I am sure there is a good upgrade option Can any of you veteran ultra riders make a recommendation on 08 seat upgrades?

Mean City Cycles. I am going to have mine done soon but others have raved about his work. Cheaper than a new seat but my reason for going with this, I don't want a different look.

I took a Sundowner and sent it to Alligatorbob.com He put a pro pad in it and I asked for the leather covers, etc... He did a fine job and I'm not on the payroll

The Mean City guys did a great job on my stock 2008 Ultra seat. They lowered it 2" and were still able to put memory foam in it for all for a bargain basement price and very fast turnaround. High fives to the pros at Mean City Cycles!

Joe how tall are you. I'm 6'2"! the idea of lowing the seat 2" sounds good will put the stock windshiels at the right height. might even give the bike a sportier feel being lower to the ground kind of like the street glide. Is the comfort level there or is it harder with less pading. Thinking of doing it this winter when bike is laid up. How fast is turn around time.
Thanks John

I did hear that lowering the 08 seat might not be so comfortable on jewels due to the curved seat. That was enough for me not to do it.

I am only 5'8" with a 30" inseam. When I got my modified Ultra seat back from Mean City, my first reaction was "it looks exactly as it did when I shipped it to them!" No way, baby......I put that seat on my bike and it felt WAY lower and a LOT more comfortable thanks to the half-inch of memory foam that they added to it. It still looks like a stock Ultra seat unless you park it next to a stock Ultra. Then you notice how much lower it is. You really owe it to yourself to contact these guys. Fast, good and inexpensive........it's almost unheard of these days. Joe in Connecticut

Plus 1 for MeanCityCycles! Or you can spend the big bucks for a Corbin or Mustang.
