Default SE heavy breather

Just curious, when I select the 09 UC on the HD site to look for parts it shows the SE heavy breather 29253-08 but warns that it cant be used with lower clove boxes, I think the lowers on teh UC are called glove boxes. I really want this air intake for my bike, does anyone have one on an 08 UC?

Fits '08-later Touring models. Does not fit models equipped with fairing lower glove boxes. Street legal when used with original equipment throttle body.

Won't the lowers / glove box interfere with the air flow.....
almost cutting it off ??
I was warned not to put lowers on my 08 R/G after
installing the heavy duty breather

I want a forward facing intake as well but I won't part with my lowers. There are other options with shorter cones/filters such as Wimmer intakes that come with 2" cones that should work fine. I'd go with the Heavy Breather too though if it would work even it fit, it's way to close to the lowers.

I don't see how lowers would have any affect on the air intake, the intake 'sucks' air in, it is not a forced air system so unless you're going fast enough to pull a vacuum around your filter or physically wrapping it with something this should be a non-issue.

Agree. It's totally a clearance issue.

It will not fit with lowers. Tried to do it myself then lost interest in the whole idea due to leg hitting it.
