Default Andrews Gear Drive Cam Set

I want more low end torque plus get rid of the chain tensioners. I have A 2004 Ultra Classic with stage II download and filter upgrade running V&H Big SHOT True Duels and Power Commander III. I was almost decided on the 26G but heard I would loose HP. Please Help, Thanks

The 21G is exactly what Joe Minton recommends in his engine builds for useful power.

What about the 37G, Andrews spec says "Hot street cams for 88 or 95 inches. 80+ rear wheel HP possible with well tuned 88 motor; more with 95. Smooth idle, broad torque (2200-5600 RPM). Stock to 9.5 CR."

What difference is it from the 26G....

I have Head-Quarters HQ-0034 bolt in cams in my otherwise stock '04 EG w/Rinehart TD's and SE a/c. The cams really woke up the 88; enough so that I haven't considered a 95, and runs better than the SE BB 95" kits and as well as some street-ported/bolt in cam 95's of my buddies. It has a 36* intake close, while most other bolt in 88 cams have 40* close. My experience seems to confirm the remarks of Joe Minton in the link above regarding better low end torque with an earlier intake close.

Here's a link to BigBoyz cam comparator if you want to check cam timing:

Good luck with your research.

Harleypigman is on the money. The heads and intake are going to run out at 5000-5400 anyway. So it isn't going to make any real HP# in stock form. Ask your self "What RPM range do I want usable torque?"

Andrews cams with otherwise stock engine; TW21 for best low end, then the 26, then the 37. It's not rocket science; the later the intake closing and the longer the duration, the more you have to rev up the bike to make power. Any of these three will make the stock EPA cams look sick.
