Default V & H True Dual install help needed

I am installing the V and H true duals and Monster ovals. Behind the rear jug there is a modified bracket that is the support for the rear pipe. Problem is I can't get a tool in there to tighten the bracket bolt because the O2 sensor is in the way. Can't take it off due to the position of the sensor.

The other problem I am having is where the header pipes mounts to the rear jug there is no room to get a wrench or socket in there to tighten it up. The nut is directly under the jug/pipe connection and again no room.

btw these are being installed on an 08 Ultra

Thanks in advance,

You have to use a swivel socket to get in there. Then it is a piece of cake.

This is what you need. You can find it here:

Use a long extension and you will get on the nut just fine. Just did the same job on an 08 the other day.

If the pipe is not in the correct position you can't get to the bottom nut. Try and get the pipe into the correct position and you should beable to get to the bottom nut. I had the same problem on my 07 UC. On the bracket you will need to tighten the starter bolts back before the pipe goes on. if it's the bolt for the pipe to the bracket, I was able to tighten it from the left side of the bike with a wrench.
Hope this helps!

If the rear bracket is installed correctly you should be able to install and remove the left pipe. Here a photo of the bracket installed. What I did was get it finger tight, remove the pipe, tighten the bracket and reinstall the pipe. Before tightening the pipe and bracket all the way, install the left side cover and check the clearance between it and the pipe.

A stubby 1/2 wrench will help to tighten the hard to get flange bolt.

just installed the V&H true duals on my 2008 ultra. Hooked up with Rush slip-ons. Use a short Craftsman wrench to tighten the lower bolt on the rear head. You can do it! If you continue to have problems I recommend more beer, but no hard stuff unless you're ready to go to war with the damn thing.

Yup swivel socket. I also had trouble on L/H heat shield at the back end. couldn't get the clamp under the chrome shield. everything loose and no room to slide. After a few beers looked at it and made it happen. I wanted to use the HD clamps and not the V&H "hose clamps"
