I just finished downloading the latest version (7.8) of software for the Harmon Kardon stereo. My SG was built 9/9/05 and I had the 6.8 version loaded on my H-K stereo.

I have not had any issues with the screen going blank or the CD/MP3 skipping but being that my software was obsolete I figured I couldn't go wrong by updating it.

It is too late to take it out on the road so I don't know what to expect (or not expect). For anyone who has downloaded version 7.8 from the H-D site do you know what it is for?

 

Where did you find the update? I have been looking with no luck...

My dealer keeps telling me that their is a new download coming out that will de-sensitize the cd player. HK has developed it, just waiting for FCC approval. Anyone heard of this or is this download your talking about it? My cd player has the typical skipping, stopping problem.

 

did the download didnt seem to help the cd from skipping will have to take bike in to dealer

 

I downloaded the software even though I had no problems that I was aware of. The only difference I noticed was when skipping songs on the CD. It used to take a few seconds for the next song to start playing. Now, it starts almost immediately.

 

It makes the radio tune in and ONLY play rap songs and nothing else!!
