Default Fishing rod and Shotgun carrying

How do you guys carry your fishing rod or shotgun on your bike. Shotgun is for going to range for skeet shooting not protection so it won't fit into bags? I hate to just strap them to the tour pack lid.

Here in Finland we use over under shotguns mostly in skeet and I have mine in my original case in two pieces on my luggage rack (cross over).

Scott,
I do have a truck. I also have a bike to ride and want to ride to my fising spots or to the skeet range. Just wanted an easy way to carry without stapping to my tour pack. I thought maybe someone else here may hunt or fish and ride their bike to their favorite spots. Just thought someone may have a suggestion. I don't have a luggage rack on the tour pack to strap to, but I quess I may have to add that to my list.

Here's an option.

This may be a bit much for a fishing rod or a shotgun, but it would be secure.

I was wondering the same thing.
If I have to make my own 3 or 4 piece rods I will figure a way to take a quality fishing rig.

By the way - Did anyone see that ESPN is looking for bikers that combine their riding and fishing trips.
They are looking for some who can give them a month on the road - Biking & Fishing.

Sounds like my dream come true!!!

My dad installed a hitch on the back and its a receiver type hitch and he had a plate made and he hauls his golf clubs on the back of his bike. They give him a hard time out at the golf corse saying he doesn't need to rent a colf cart.I think you could have something made similar for your toys.

Learn to use a handgun for skeet shooting and fishing,[8D] takes up a lot less room. LOL

for haulling something like a shotgun or fishing poles I can see something like this being ok but geesh golf clubs are heavy... how far off the back behind the rear axle can you hang a heavy load without it causing major handling issues on a bike?
