Default Pain in the Butt......Gone!

Received my rebuilt Ultra seat from Mean City this AM. Put the seat on and did about 120 miles on it....no more butt pain!! It is now a very good seat. When I sent the seat to Mean City, my wife told me not to do anything to her end (of the seat) as it is fine the way it is. I did the whole seat anyway, figuring it would probably be better in spite of what she thought. When we got on the bike today she remarked, "I don't recall the seat being this comfortable". I have not, and will not, tell her that I had the entire seat redone. I Just smiled and we hit the road. Weather was perfect! The ride was even better.

I have not owned or tried, a Sundowner or Corbin or Mustang seat, so I don't know how it compares. I can say, however, that I am very pleased with the work Mean City did. Cost including shipping was about $175.....my butt thinks it was a bargain.

Congrats on the new seat, Bill. Hopefully many more pain-free miles to come for you and your wife.

clayguy,

I'm in the process of trying to find a new seat or have my redone. What was wrong with your seat? And what did they do to it?

I had mine done by MCC and the difference is night and day! And all I had him do was correct the scoop and lower it 2 inches. Before I would get sore after about 45 minutes, did a 700 mile day last month with no discomfort at all. With the other foam options he has now you could probably ride forever!

Yachtman, there was nothing "wrong" with the seat, it was a stock Ultra seat. They are notoriously uncomfortable. Passenger seat was great according to wife, but had them do the whole tortilla anyway. They unstitch the stock seat and replace/add better foam. It works. They have several options, so hit their website and it explains each level of rebuild.
