blue is correct you dont have to spend the bank to get better sound out of your scoot, and no your bike will never sound like your car or home, unless you ride in a bubble.

The cheap 60.00 amps on the internet are just that cheap. They dont hold up to the punishing they get from our bikes, "dont ask me how I know".

Anyone can PM for any more information. As far as the 2ohm versus 4ohm the 4 will have less resistance to the head unit and will not cause any problems, only thing that could be noticed is that they may not play as loud.

I went with those as well. Got a good deal from J&M's only Chicago dealer (a friend's brother-in-law owns the store) But went to the fabric store and color matched the grilles as I did on my old EG. With as many compliments I have got on both, I'm surprised I don't see more doing it. They even make swimsuit cloth in metallic!

How about some more details on the color matching of the speaker grilles? You used swimsuit material? Does that replace the stock grilles or do you just wrap the old grills with the material? This sounds like a great trick.

This is a great idea! Especially after I get the inner fairing painted.

Im happy with the J&M's for the most part, although I had hoped for at least a little more (or at least any) bass. They're definately better than stock but even with a factory amp, I might as well turn it off over 70 mph. I expected it with my 8 inch KW flare but the sound isn't much better with my stock shield (cut down to 12 inches).
I thought about subs too, but just talked to a guy I saw who had 2- 6inch subs, mounted low inside the inner fairing, facing the fork legs. He said they're great when stopped or at slow speed but barely noticeable beyond that.
