Bought HD Sidekick seat for 2008 SG
The 2009 P&A catalog shows a Sidekick two-up seat for the 2008 Street Glide, previously available only for 2007 and earlier models, and I ordered it from my dealer. I received it yesterday, and was disappointed to see that it didn't fit so well. There was a 3/4 inch gap at the front of the seat, exposing the end of the console and the tank underneath. Took it back for a refund.
Does the Street Glide have a shorter console than other touring models? That's the only explanation I can imagine — maybe it works better on a Road King or Ultra.

Nope. The Street Glide, like the Road King, actually has a longer console than Electra Glides, Road Glides, etc. Street Glide and Road King seats tend to have a shorter nose that does not go as far up the tank console as do the seats for other Touring models. It's unfortunate it didn't fit you.

I tried this seat a couple of weeks ago for my 2009 Streetglide and it wouldn't reach the console either. The closest I could get it was about 1/2". Returned it and I'm disappointed in HD for not addressing this potential widespread issue. I can't believe they don't know. So a called them and told em.
