Cool Harmon- Kardon Qouestion

If your Hardon- Kardon radio is out of warranty and needs service do we have to go to the stealer to get it fixed?

unfortunately yes. the co. that has the repair contract deals only with the dealer. you can however remove and reinstall the radio. there is a program link http://www.harley-davidson.com/cp/mo...?locale=en_US& that you can use to set the radio up for free. you will lose your warrenty but refurbs are only 30 days anyway

I would think about a different radio. Got to be much cheaper than what they are going to hit you for.

Thanks! I thought that would be the case. The stealer says they have to do a bunch of tests before they can even send it in. My heated grips died too. I can't live without those. I have turned into a wimp! But man are they nice. I don't ever were gloves anymore.

That link is for software upgrades and will not affect warrenty

correct vegas fltri. BUT if the dealer doesnt do its removal and reinstall they wont warrenty radio. i merely posted the link to save someone .5 hr labor for 7 to 10 min work.
at my dealer it was 1.0 to remove and reinstall.5 to program thats 135$ for the labor at 90$ per hr. and 275$ for the refurbed radio for a total of 410$. this is all out of warrenty work. 1st radio died 2 months out dealer wouldnt take care of it.

Did the sofware upgrade because mine was cutting out on the highway. Hep, CD is stuck in radio. Bike is now stuck in the repair bay at the stealer. And I am now stuck in the wallet or around there
