Bagger prices, Rapid City H/D in fantasy land
Well,
This morning I went out to the dealer to see what was left now that the rally is over. Most of the bikes that were there at the beginning of the rally when I went buy were still there, with the exception of the additional dust they were gathering, hehe.....except for the '09 baggers they had....they were all bought up. So......You would think that since nobody bought an '08 and they had a BUNCH of them that the prices would go down to reflect that right?
WRONG!
Prices are still over 20K on all of them, except Road King's which were 19.5K.
Even the Duracell anniversary bikes are still over 20K
Are these guys delusional? If the prices are almost the same, why would I buy an '08 over an '09?
I went in there to see if the lower prices could entice me, and I left thinking I should buy a used one later down the road.
23K for an '08 Ultra is rediculous!

Ever heard of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally? Well, Sturgis is the little town just outside of Rapid City.
Geez, I had not idea the touring section was where all the a$$holes reside.
Guy has 100 posts and acts like he is an old timer around here....hehe, better go keep an eye on your wife, the lawnboy arrived.

I understand where you are coming from Traveler. Many dealers around the country are not people that will bargain a deal with you on year-end leftovers. Harleys have gotten premium prices for too many years now, so they don't typically lower the prices. Much of this inflation of prices has to do with many of the new buyers over the last 10 years or so. Harleys became a fad and now all of the tough-guy riders (like some here on this site who instantly bash someone for posting something) have gone out and spent $20K plus on a bike and consider themselves a biker. Many can't even change the damn oil on their bike let alone tune it!!
